Lovely friends,
I have been thinking a lot lately about moving forward and what that actually looks like in real life. We can have the big idea, the exciting new direction, and that burst of energy where we suddenly know exactly what we want to change. I love that feeling. I am an Aries. Give me a new idea and I am already halfway down the road with snacks packed and a list made.
The part I have been thinking about more is what happens after that first burst of excitement. Because eventually the new thing becomes something we have to keep showing up for. We have to do it again tomorrow, and next week, and probably on a day when we are tired and would rather do just about anything else. That is where I am realizing so much of the real movement happens.
Consistency is not particularly exciting. Nobody wakes up and says, βI cannot wait to consistently do the same small things I did yesterday.β At least I don’t. I like the feeling of finishing something, checking it off my list, and moving on to the next thing. Spirit has been reminding me lately that some of the things I want to create in my life are going to grow because I keep tending to them.
I can see this in my own work. There are things I have wanted to grow, things I have wanted to change, and new directions I have felt pulled toward. Sometimes I have spent more energy wondering if I was doing the right thing than I spent simply giving the thing enough time to work. I think a lot of us do that. We start something, watch it closely for signs that it is working, get nervous when the results are not immediate, and suddenly we are considering another direction.
There is a time to change direction. There is also a time to give yourself a chance to build some momentum.
That has been one of the bigger messages coming through for me lately. If I keep changing what I am doing every time I get impatient, I never get to see what consistency could have created. Sometimes the next level of our life comes from a brilliant new idea. Sometimes it comes because we finally stayed with a good idea long enough for it to grow.
I think this is where working with my Spirit guides has become really helpful for me. I don’t expect them to run my life or make every decision. I want their guidance, and then I still have to participate. I can ask, βIs this something I should keep building?β or βShow me where my energy would be best used right now.β Then I pay attention to what keeps coming back, what feels steady underneath the normal human doubts, and what opportunities begin appearing around it.
I have also learned that guidance does not always arrive as another new idea. Sometimes the guidance is to keep going.
That one can be harder to recognize because we are often looking for something dramatic. We want the sign, the breakthrough, the sudden answer, or the unexpected door swinging open. Meanwhile, Spirit may be helping us stay focused on the work already sitting in front of us. The opportunity might already be here and our job is to keep showing up for it.
I think consistency also builds something inside us. Every time we follow through on something we said we wanted, we build a little more trust in ourselves. We stop needing every day to feel inspired before we act. We begin proving to ourselves that we can create something over time, even when every single step does not feel exciting.
That does not mean pushing ourselves endlessly. Rest matters. Life happens. Some days we have more to give than others, and I think there needs to be room for being human in all of this. Consistency can have some flexibility in it and still be consistency.
For me, I am looking at what I am creating and asking a different question right now. Instead of constantly wondering what else I should be doing, I am asking, βWhat is already working that I could give more consistent energy to?β
That question feels really good.
It takes some of the pressure off having to reinvent everything. It also helps me notice the little things that are already moving. Maybe something is growing slowly. Maybe people are responding. Maybe an idea keeps calling me back. Maybe I am getting better at something simply because I have continued doing it.
Those small signs matter.
If you are in a season where you are ready to move forward or shift something in your life, you might ask your Spirit guides to help you see where consistency would serve you most. Ask them to show you what deserves more of your attention and what you have already outgrown. Then give yourself enough quiet to notice what comes up without immediately trying to force an answer.
You can also ask something very simple: βWhat would you have me keep showing up for?β
I love that question because it leaves room for guidance while keeping me involved in my own life. Maybe the answer is your work. Maybe it is taking care of your body, creating something, saving money, rebuilding a relationship, learning a skill, growing your spiritual practice, or finally giving a dream the steady attention it has been asking for.
We tend to notice the big leaps because they make a better story. I am starting to think some of the biggest shifts in our lives are built much more quietly. One choice repeated. One promise kept. One small step taken often enough that eventually we look around and realize we are somewhere completely different.
Maybe moving forward does not require another huge change right now. Maybe you already made the change.
Now it is time to keep going.
Much love,
Lisa π
