Lovely friends,
I was thinking about this because it still happens to me, even now, and I don’t think people talk about that part enough. There are days where I sit with something and I expect a clear answer, something solid I can move on, and it just doesn’t come the way I want it to. Not in a clean yes or no, not in a way that wraps it up so I can feel settled. And I can feel myself getting a little impatient with it, like come on, I should be able to feel this clearly by now. But that feeling right there is usually my first clue that I’m already too far in my head about it.
What I’ve noticed over time is that when I don’t get a clear answer, it’s usually not because something is blocked or wrong. It’s almost always because I’m already leaning too hard in one direction before I even ask the question. I’ve already decided what I think the answer should be, or I’ve already started building out the outcome in my mind. And then I’m asking Spirit to confirm it instead of actually being open to hearing something different. That’s not neutral, even if I try to convince myself it is.
And I get why that happens, especially if you’re intuitive or empathic or just someone who feels things deeply. Your mind starts moving ahead, trying to read the situation, trying to see where this is going so you can prepare yourself. There’s a part of you that wants to get ahead of it so you don’t feel caught off guard later. I do that too, and I can feel when it kicks in because everything speeds up a little. But when I’m in that space, I’m not listening anymore, I’m trying to predict.
And when I’m trying to predict, I start reading everything through that lens without even realizing it. I notice what matches what I already think and I ignore what doesn’t fit. Or I’ll get a feeling that doesn’t line up with the outcome I want, and I’ll question it instead of trusting it. And later I’ll look back and see it so clearly that it was there the whole time. That’s always the moment where I have to be honest with myself about what I was doing.
Being an Aries doesn’t help with that part, if I’m being real. I move fast, I decide fast, and when I feel something I want to act on it right away. There’s not always a lot of patience in that energy, and I’ve had to learn how to work with that instead of letting it run everything. Because that same quick instinct is also part of my intuition, so I don’t want to shut it down. I just don’t let it skip over the part where I actually check in with myself first.
When I’m not getting a clear answer now, I take that as a sign to slow down instead of push harder. Not in a dramatic way, just enough to come back to what’s actually in front of me. Because a lot of the time I realize I’ve been so focused on where I think this is going that I’ve completely missed what’s happening right now. And what’s happening right now usually tells me more than anything I’m trying to figure out ahead of time.
I’ve also noticed that when I’m too focused on the outcome, I stop paying attention to what actually resonates. I’m already thinking about the end result, so I’m not really feeling into the steps in front of me. And that’s where things start to feel off, even if I can’t explain why yet. It’s subtle, but it’s there every time if I slow down enough to notice it.
There’s this habit I have where I’ll try to figure it out instead of just letting it be simple. I’ll start running through every possibility until I land somewhere that feels solid enough to move on. But the more I do that, the further I get from my intuition because now I’m working instead of listening. And when it’s real, when it’s actually coming from that internal knowing, it doesn’t feel like work at all.
It feels steady, even if I don’t like what it’s saying. That’s another thing I’ve had to get honest about, because sometimes I say I don’t have an answer when really I do. It’s just not the one I wanted, so I keep looking for something different. That’s a very real moment, and I think everyone has that at some point whether they admit it or not.

I’ve gotten better at noticing the difference between something being unclear and something being clear but uncomfortable. Unclear feels open, like there’s space and it just hasn’t landed yet. Uncomfortable feels tight in a different way, like I’m trying to move away from something I already know. Those used to feel the same to me, and now they don’t.
I always say, if you’re stuck between yes or no, flip a coin. Not because the coin is deciding anything, but because you’ll feel the answer before it even lands. You’ll know what you’re hoping for in that split second, and that tells you everything. I’ve used that so many times and it works every time.
And then there are moments where I completely forget to do it. I’ll sit there overthinking, going back and forth, trying to get clarity, and I don’t even think to go back to something that simple. It’s almost funny when I catch it because it’s so obvious once I do. Like I made it way harder than it needed to be for no reason.
When I really feel like I’m not getting anything, or I’ve gone in circles enough, I’ll ask for signs. And I’m very clear about it when I do. I don’t leave it open ended or vague because I know I can twist things if I want to. I’ll ask for three very specific signs that I won’t be able to question or explain away.
And I hold myself to that.
If I don’t get those signs, I don’t try to make something else fit. I don’t go looking for a version of it that kind of counts. I take it as a clear answer, even if that answer is just not right now. That part matters more than people think, because silence is still an answer.
There have been plenty of times where I didn’t get anything at all. No signs, no strong feeling, nothing that stood out in a way I could point to. And instead of letting that spiral me, I’ve learned to see it as a pause. Not a block, not something wrong, just a pause.
And I didn’t always handle that well.
I used to push through that feeling and make a decision anyway just so I could move forward. I didn’t like sitting in that in between space where nothing felt fully clear. But every time I forced it, I could feel later that it would’ve been easier if I had just waited a little longer.
Now I’m a lot more comfortable letting things sit when they need to. Not forever, not in a stuck way, just long enough for things to settle. Long enough for me to come back to what actually feels true instead of what I’m trying to make true.
And almost every time, something shifts when I do that. Either the answer becomes clear, or the situation changes enough that the next step is obvious. It’s rarely as complicated as it felt when I was trying to force it into clarity.
That’s been a big shift for me.
Realizing I don’t have to rush clarity just because I feel uncomfortable without it. There’s a difference between being stuck and being still, and I didn’t always know how to tell the difference. Now I can feel it in my body, and I trust that more than anything else.
So when I don’t get a clear answer now, I don’t assume something is wrong. I look at where my attention is and what I might be trying to control. I check if I’m already attached to an outcome or trying to get ahead of something that hasn’t unfolded yet. And most of the time, that’s where the disconnect is.
It’s quieter than I thought it would be, but it’s a lot more reliable this way. I don’t feel like I have to chase answers anymore or force something into place. I just come back to what’s steady and let things show up from there.
And that has been enough.
Many years ago, I created a short meditation to help with clarity and protection while opening the door to connect with your own spiritual team. It’s one of those simple, steady practices that people come back to again and again, so it felt right to bring it forward here, especially if your mind has been a little busy or you’ve been wanting to feel more supported.
This one gently brings in both protection and clear guidance, while also helping you meet your spirit guides in a way that feels natural, not forced. You don’t have to “figure it out” or try to make something happen. It’s more about creating the space and letting the connection build in its own way.
When I started working with my guides, it wasn’t instant clarity or big moments. It was subtle at first. Small nudges, quiet knowing, things that didn’t make sense until I looked back and realized how guided I actually was. That trust builds over time, and this kind of meditation is exactly how it starts.
So if you’ve been feeling a little scattered, unsure, or just wanting something that helps you feel more grounded and protected while opening up your intuition, this is a really good place to begin.
It’s on YouTube here.
And if you want to keep that connection going, we also have the Friday Night Reiki Energy Exchange group over on Patreon. It’s a simple way to stay consistent with your energy and feel supported without having to overthink it. If that feels like something you’d like, we’d genuinely love to have you there.
