Lovely friends,
Iāve been giving intuitive readings for more than twenty years, and after all this time, I still think one of the hardest things to explain is what an angel reading actually feels like. I can tell you that I connect with Spirit and the angels, that I receive intuitive information, and that I share what Iām getting with the person Iām reading for, but that makes the whole thing sound much more formal than it usually feels to me.
Most people come to me because something is going on in their life and they want clarity. They may be wondering about a relationship, work, money, a move, their spiritual path, or one of those big life changes where you can feel something shifting before you quite know what youāre supposed to do with it. Sometimes they want to know what I see coming next. Other times, they already have a pretty good idea of what they want to do, but theyāre having trouble trusting themselves.
And yes, sometimes they simply want an answer.
I understand that one too.
After doing thousands of readings over the years, Iāve come to believe that a good reading shouldnāt make you feel as though somebody else has just taken control of your future. I want you to understand what Iām receiving, think about how it fits into your life, and leave feeling more capable of making your own choices. That is a big part of what angel readings mean to me.
So What Is an Angel Reading?
An angel reading is an intuitive spiritual reading where the reader connects with the angels, Spirit, and spiritual guidance to receive information about the person and the situation theyāre asking about. Different readers work differently. Some use angel or oracle cards, some use tarot, and some primarily work through their intuitive senses.
My own readings have always been very intuitive. Information doesnāt necessarily arrive in one neat little package. I may get a feeling about something first, then a word or phrase comes into my mind, followed by an image or a very strong knowing about where the reading is going. Sometimes several pieces arrive separately and only make sense once I start putting them together.
That is one of the things Iāve learned to trust with experience.
When I was newer to intuitive work, I think I expected spiritual information to arrive with much more fanfare. We hear stories about booming voices, angels standing at the foot of the bed, or enormous signs appearing at exactly the right moment. Those experiences may happen for people, but a lot of intuitive communication is much quieter than that.
Sometimes Spirit whispers.
You learn to recognize the difference between your own mental chatter and the information that seems to drop in from somewhere else. Even after all these years, I pay attention rather than assuming every thought that crosses my mind is a message from an angel. Discernment is part of intuitive work too, and I think it becomes even more important the longer you do this.
Do Angels Actually Tell Me What You Should Do?
This is where my own philosophy about readings has become much stronger over the years.
I believe in free will.
I donāt believe the angels are sitting around with a giant rulebook containing the one correct decision every person is supposed to make. I think there are times when one direction feels much more supported than another, and I may receive a very strong impression about that during a reading. But ultimately, you are the person living your life.
That matters.
If I see an opportunity around work, for example, I can tell you what Iām receiving about it. Maybe I feel that something new is opening, that a situation youāve outgrown is beginning to shift, or that another possibility is going to present itself. That doesnāt mean you should quit your job tomorrow because Lisa said Spirit sees a change coming.
Please pay your mortgage.
Spiritual guidance and common sense are allowed to sit at the same table.
I actually think thatās where intuitive guidance becomes most useful. We can listen to what Spirit is showing us while also looking at the practical reality of our lives. If something feels right intuitively, we can investigate it, ask questions, gather information, and decide what we want to do.
Can an Angel Reading Predict the Future?
This is probably one of the biggest reasons people book readings with me, so Iām not going to dance around it.
Yes, I receive predictions.
Iāve been doing predictive intuitive work for many years, and sometimes information comes through very clearly about something developing around a person. I may see movement around work, a relationship changing, an opportunity arriving, a conversation happening, or a period of life beginning to open in a different direction.
But I donāt believe the future is a concrete wall that weāre all walking toward.
I see it more like energy in motion.
There may be a very strong direction around you right now because of your choices, another personās choices, the circumstances youāre in, and the opportunities that are developing. If nothing changes, that path may continue unfolding exactly as Iām seeing it. But people have free will. We change our minds. Other people change theirs. We say yes to something we thought weād refuse, or we finally say no to something weāve tolerated for far too long.
Life moves.
Thatās why Iām very careful about making someone feel trapped by a prediction. If I tell you I see something coming, I want you to treat that information as something to be aware of, not a sentence handed down from the universe.
Sometimes a prediction also makes much more sense later than it does in the moment. Iāve had people come back and tell me, āNow I understand what you were talking about.ā Something that sounded odd during the reading suddenly clicked because circumstances had changed.
That still fascinates me after all these years.
What Can You Ask About in an Angel Reading?
People ask me about almost everything.
Love and relationships are always big ones. So are work, money, family situations, moving, new opportunities, spiritual development, and those moments when somebody knows theyāre ready for a new chapter but doesnāt quite know what that chapter looks like yet.
I think the best questions usually leave a little room for Spirit to show us something.
If someone asks, āWill this exact person call me at 3:15 on Thursday?ā weāve narrowed the entire reading down to one tiny outcome. Sometimes what Iām receiving is much bigger than that. Maybe the real issue isnāt whether that person calls. Maybe the reading is showing me that the relationship itself is changing, or that the person asking the question is about to realize they want something very different.
That doesnāt mean I wonāt answer a specific question. I absolutely will.
I just like to leave the door cracked open enough for Spirit to bring in information we werenāt expecting.
Some of the most useful things Iāve received in readings over the years were not necessarily the things the person originally thought they were going to ask me about.
Angel Readings and Relationships
Relationships can make even the most intuitive person question absolutely everything they know.
I say that with love.
When weāre emotionally invested in somebody, it can be incredibly difficult to separate what we intuitively sense from what we desperately hope will happen. We start analyzing texts, pauses, conversations, social media, and whether somebody used a period instead of an exclamation point. Suddenly weāre doing detective work that would impress the FBI.
Thatās one reason people often seek readings about love.
When Iām reading a relationship, Iām paying attention to the energy around the connection and what Iām receiving intuitively, but Iām also looking at the person sitting in front of me. What is this relationship doing to you? Are you happy? Are you constantly waiting? Are you afraid to ask for what you need because you think the other person might leave?
Those things matter just as much as a prediction.
I may see the potential for a relationship to deepen, or I may feel that someone is pulling away. I might see another relationship coming into a personās life altogether. But I never want somebody to put their entire life on hold because a psychic told them another person is their soulmate and they just need to wait.
That is far too much power to give a reading.
Love should still include your own choices, boundaries, standards, and self-respect.
What About Career and Money Questions?
I get a lot of these too, and I understand why. Work and money touch almost every part of our lives. A career decision can affect where we live, how secure we feel, our relationships, our confidence, and sometimes our entire sense of identity.
When Iām reading around work, I may receive information about an opportunity, a change in direction, a period of frustration ending, or something the person needs to pay attention to. Sometimes I get a strong feeling that theyāre ready for more responsibility or that something theyāve been considering is worth exploring.
But again, I want practical reality in the room with us.
If Spirit seems to be pointing you toward a new career, research it. Look at the training. Look at the pay. Look at the jobs available where you live. If youāre thinking about starting a business, listen to your intuition and make a business plan.
Iāve been self-employed for a very long time. I love working with Spirit, but Spirit has never once filed my taxes for me.
There is room for both.
A reading can help you explore possibilities and sometimes recognize something you hadnāt considered, but major financial, legal, medical, and career decisions deserve the appropriate professional information too.
Do I Use Angel Cards in My Readings?
Cards can be wonderful tools, and I use them in some of my work, particularly in the readings I share publicly. I enjoy the symbolism because sometimes a card gives us a visual doorway into something Spirit is already trying to say.
But I donāt believe the card itself is where my intuition lives.
If you took every deck away from me, I would still be intuitive.
For me, the cards are another language. An image, symbol, color, or phrase may trigger information that goes far beyond the traditional meaning of the card. Thatās why two readers can pull the same card and give very different readings. We bring our own intuitive relationship with the symbols into the experience.
I think thatās also why Iāve never wanted people to become overly dependent on a particular tool. Cards can help us focus, reflect, and open our intuition, but eventually I want people to recognize that their own intuitive ability exists whether thereās a deck sitting in front of them or not.
Which Angels Come Through?
Sometimes Iām very aware of a particular angel around someone.
Archangel Michael may come through when the reading involves courage, protection, boundaries, or finally getting serious about moving forward. Archangel Raphael may show up around healing, emotional support, or a period when someone needs extra care. Gabriel may be connected with communication, creativity, speaking up, or something the person is ready to express.
Uriel often feels very practical to me. I associate Uriel with wisdom, clarity, and those moments when we need to stop spinning and actually look at what is in front of us.
There are many angels I work with, and my relationship with them has developed over decades. I donāt need to force an angel into every reading, though. Sometimes Iām simply aware of Spirit and the information itself.
I think we can make spirituality unnecessarily complicated when we start believing we have to identify every energy, every sign, every color, and every little sensation.
Sometimes the message is more important than figuring out who delivered it.
What If a Loved One in Spirit Comes Through?
This is where angel readings and mediumship can sometimes overlap in my work.
I make a distinction between angels and our loved ones who have passed. I donāt personally believe our loved ones become angels when they die. I see them as different spiritual relationships, although I believe both can offer love and support.
There are times when I become aware of a loved one in Spirit while Iām reading for someone. I may receive a personality trait, memory, image, feeling, or piece of information that seems connected to them. When that happens, I share what Iām receiving and allow the person I’m reading for to decide whether it makes sense.
I don’t like forcing information to fit.
If I say something and it means absolutely nothing to you, tell me. I would much rather have an honest reading than spend five minutes trying to convince you that your Uncle Bob must have secretly loved yellow roses because I saw one in my mind.
Intuitive work requires trust, but I think it also requires humility.
What If the Reading Says Something You Donāt Want to Hear?
This happens.
Sometimes people come into a reading hoping Iām going to confirm something they desperately want, and what Iām receiving doesnāt line up with that expectation. I try to handle those moments with compassion because there is a real person on the other side of the reading, and their feelings matter.
But Iām also not doing anyone a favor by changing the message because I think theyāll like another answer better.
There is a difference between being compassionate and simply telling someone what they want to hear.
At the same time, I donāt believe spiritual guidance should frighten people. Iām extremely uncomfortable with readers who tell people they’re cursed, surrounded by evil, doomed to experience something terrible, or need to pay additional money to have some frightening energy removed.
Fear makes people vulnerable.
A reading should never be used to manipulate someone into giving a reader more money or surrendering control over their decisions.
If something difficult comes through for me, I want to talk about what the person can do with that information. Where is their power? What choices do they have? What should they pay attention to?
That is much more useful than leaving somebody scared.
What If the Reading Is Wrong?
I think anybody who has been doing intuitive work long enough should be willing to talk about this.
Psychics are human.
I am human.
I have more than twenty years of experience, and I trust my intuition deeply, but I am still interpreting intuitive information through a human mind. I don’t believe responsible intuitive work requires pretending we’re infallible.
Sometimes timing is difficult. Sometimes a prediction may represent the strongest possibility at the time of the reading and circumstances change. Sometimes information may be interpreted differently than the way it eventually unfolds.
And yes, sometimes a reader can simply be wrong.
I don’t think admitting that diminishes intuitive work. I think it makes the relationship between the reader and the person receiving the reading healthier.
I would much rather you take what I give you, sit with it, and see how it resonates with your own life than believe something simply because I said it.
Do You Have to Believe in Angels for a Reading to Work?
I don’t think you need to arrive with a perfectly organized spiritual belief system.
Some people who come to me have worked with angels for years. Others believe in Spirit but aren’t sure what they think about angels specifically. Some are simply curious and open to the experience.
I’m fine with that.
I don’t need somebody to adopt my exact spiritual beliefs in order for us to have a meaningful conversation. My own understanding of Spirit has continued developing throughout my life, and I think we’re allowed to ask questions.
Actually, I think questions are healthy.
Blind belief has never been particularly interesting to me.
Can an Angel Reading Help You Develop Your Own Intuition?
I think this can be one of the most valuable parts of receiving a reading.
There are so many times when someone asks me a question and, as we’re talking, it becomes clear that they’ve already been receiving intuitive information about the situation. They had a feeling. They kept thinking about something. They noticed that their body reacted every time a particular subject came up.
They just didn’t trust it.
That is something I care about deeply because I don’t want people to believe they need a psychic to make every decision for them.
I would much rather help you recognize your own intuition.
A reading may give you confirmation, another perspective, or information you hadn’t considered, but you still have your own relationship with Spirit. You can learn to recognize how intuition feels for you. You can develop discernment. You can ask for guidance and then pay attention to what happens next.
Sometimes the best thing a reading can do is remind you that you already know more than you think you do.
How Should You Prepare for an Angel Reading?
You really don’t need an elaborate ritual.
I think it helps to know what you most want clarity about, especially if your reading has a limited amount of time or is focused on one area. You may want to jot down a couple of thoughts beforehand so you don’t finish the session and immediately remember the one thing you meant to ask.
Then come with an open mind.
You don’t need to give a reader your entire life story before the reading begins. At the same time, I don’t think readings need to become tests where the client refuses to answer anything because they’re trying to prove whether the psychic is legitimate.
We’re having a conversation.
If something I say connects with you, tell me. If it doesn’t, you can tell me that too.
The goal isn’t for me to win a psychic trivia contest. The goal is for you to receive something useful.
How Do You Know If an Angel Reader Is Right for You?
Pay attention to how the reader makes you feel before you ever book.
Read their website. Watch their videos if they have them. Listen to how they talk about Spirit and the people they read for. Do they encourage personal responsibility, or do they make people afraid? Do they promise impossible certainty? Do they seem comfortable saying they don’t know something?
Experience matters to me, but character matters too.
I also think you should be very cautious with anyone who tells you that something terrible will happen unless you pay them additional money for a cleansing, curse removal, protection ritual, or emergency spiritual service.
That is not how I work.
You should never be frightened into buying spiritual services.
Trust your common sense right alongside your intuition.
What I Think an Angel Reading Should Really Give You
After all these years, my definition of a good reading has actually become simpler.
I want you to leave with clarity.
Maybe you understand a situation differently. Maybe something I predicted gives you a heads-up about what may be developing. Maybe you recognize an opportunity you hadn’t been paying attention to, or you finally admit to yourself that you’ve outgrown something.
Sometimes you leave with an answer.
Sometimes you leave with a better question.
And sometimes Spirit confirms something you already knew deep down but weren’t quite ready to trust.
I love that part of this work.
I’ve never wanted people to hand me the keys to their lives and ask me to drive. I’d much rather sit beside you for a little while, tell you what I’m seeing, point out the turn you may not have noticed, and then let you decide where you want to go.
That’s what an angel reading is to me.
Guidance.
Perspective.
Possibility.
And hopefully, a stronger connection to your own ability to recognize what feels right for your life.
Much love,
Lisa Beachy š
